"Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations" Psalm 90:1
Tonight for the first time in 3 months I am Home. Here in my own bedroom in the place I grew up surrounded by my family. I am thankful. Reading through Psalm 90, verses 11 and 12 spoke to me. "Who knows the power of your anger? For your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you. Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Old Testament Foundations is teaching me a lot this semester. I'm learning how to better understand who God is. God is more than just the warm fuzzies, full of love, compassion, mercy, and grace. He is also a jealous God, just and holy. A God who disciplines. That is why I love this verse. It is a description of God's power, He is to be feared and respected. It's a verse in which, God's people (Israel) ask for discipline, that they may gain wisdom and the realization that life is short. With this wisdom we are enabled to treasure our days and obey God's commands for His greater glory.
