Calm Before the Storm

Today was a beautiful day. I woke up at 6:45am to meet my friends for Christmas. Once we all emerged, coffee was served and eyes began to focus. We passed out gifts and then began to open them. It was a lot of fun to see the crazy shenanigans of gifts that we got each other. However, I have to say my most favorite part was simply being with my friends on a day that we declared special. It's funny how this time of year makes people different. I wonder what it would be like if we declared everyday special.

Anyways, it was a great day, even homework time didn't seem so bad. I know this week, being finals, will have it's moments where everything is stressful and storm-like, but right now everything is calm.

Oh, and by the way snow will be blasting in soon, but right now everything is fine.

Psalm 46:1-5

God is our refuge and strength,
   an ever-present help in trouble.
 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
   and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
 though its waters roar and foam
   and the mountains quake with their surging.
 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
   the holy place where the Most High dwells.
 God is within her, she will not fall;
   God will help her at break of day.
