Today is Easter Sunday. What does it mean to you? For me, looking back on the events of today my most favorite thing is that Christ is risen. It excites me to know this fact. For one of my classes I had to read a chapter on Easter. In the reading I learned about how Easter came to be. Did you know that Christians use to come together every Sunday to celebrate Christ's resurrection! I thought that was so cool, and it's one of the reasons we have Church on Sunday morning. Easter started out as a one day a year celebration which then turned into a week then so on and so fourth until it became a 50 day celebration. The 40 days of lent and then 10 days of Pentecost. The 40 days of lent are meant to focus on Christ's suffering and death and then the 10 days of Pentecost focus on Jesus' resurrection, ministry, and ascension. Anyways just some facts for fun.
